We are looking for a Senior Finance Manager to drive financial forecasting, budgeting, long-term planning, and financial modeling to enhance decision-making and operational effectiveness within the company. You will play a pivotal role in supporting our growth and ensuring financial discipline across the organization. This position reports to the Chief Accounting Officer.

Climb is a publicly traded company with teams in Boston and Seattle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Financial Planning & Analysis: Design and execute financial models, forecasts, and budgets to support business planning and key decision-making processes.
  • Trend & Variance Analysis: Monitor and evaluate trends and variances in headcount, operating expenses, and cash flow. Conduct in-depth financial reviews for senior leadership.
  • Clinical Trial Expense Modeling: Develop and maintain expense models for clinical trials, incorporating contract updates and site activity data, ensuring high accuracy and integrity in all calculations.
  • Strategic Scenario Analysis: Perform scenario analyses to evaluate strategic initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, and other key business decisions.
  • Board & Senior Management Reporting: Prepare and present detailed financial reports and performance insights to the Board of Directors and senior leadership, ensuring clear communication of financial planning and performance metrics.
  • Clinical Accrual Management: Collaborate closely with accounting and clinical development teams to ensure timely and accurate clinical trial accruals.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, establishing yourself as a trusted finance partner throughout the organization.
  • Process Improvement: Drive process improvements in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, increasing efficiency and accuracy.
  • Business Reviews & Insights: Deliver actionable insights and updates during periodic business reviews, guiding decision-making and strategy adjustments.
  • Financial Systems Management: Implement and oversee budgeting and forecasting tools to build a strong financial planning infrastructure.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with at least 3 years in the biotech industry.
  • Advanced Excel skills and expertise in financial modeling; experience with financial planning software is a plus.
  • Strong experience in supporting clinical trials from a finance perspective.
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and leadership skills, with proven cross-functional collaboration experience.
  • Deep knowledge of finance and business drivers in the life sciences sector.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and experience with financial system implementations.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth setting while maintaining a strategic mindset.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $165,000 – $190,000 annually. Base salary offered may vary depending on individual’s skills, experience, and competitive market value.
